Global Internship Program|HENNGE
Kazuhiro Ogura and the Global Interns

HENNGE's Global Internship Program:

Meet Japan's most global
Software Engineering Internship.

Work with our experienced Cloud Product Development engineers and a dedicated mentor.

HENNGE's Global Internship Program (GIP) is an on-site software engineering training program at our Shibuya office in Tokyo. Designed for students and early-career engineers, this is your chance to strengthen your skills in a global, English-speaking environment — no Japanese required.

You can choose the path that fits your goals: our Front-End Pathway focuses on TypeScript and modern frameworks like React or Vue, while our Full-Stack Pathway covers back-end, front-end, and basic DevOps using Python, Go, or TypeScript. Rather than production work, we emphasize your growth in fundamental engineering, problem-solving, and collaboration through direct mentorship and hands-on training with AWS.

The program runs for 4–6 weeks, Monday to Friday (10 AM – 7 PM JST). You’ll work alongside our entire engineering team, communicating daily with mentors and peers. While the program is unpaid, we provide comprehensive subsidies, and outstanding participants may be offered full-time employment opportunities.

Choose Your Path

Full Stack Engineering Pathway

Full Stack Engineering Pathway

  • Build and connect full-stack applications by designing back-end APIs and front-end interfaces with a focus on core concepts like security, state management, and testing across the entire cloud-integrated stack.
  • Refine your engineering approach by navigating Unix-like environments and DevOps tooling, while using mentor feedback to iteratively improve your technical decisions, trade-offs, and problem-solving skills.
  • Internship Flow:
    • Weeks 1-4: Full-Stack Application Development Project
    • Week 5: DevOps & Infrastructure Project
Front-end Engineering Pathway

Front-end Engineering Pathway

  • Develop front-end applications using TypeScript with React or Vue, where you will master core concepts like state management and data fetching while learning how your work integrates with back-end services and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strengthen your engineering foundations by explaining your technical decisions and trade-offs during reviews, and then iteratively improving your implementation based on direct feedback and mentorship.
  • Internship Flow:
    • Weeks 1-4: Application Development Training
    • Week 5: DevOps Project
  • All applicants are required to choose at least one pathway, and each pathway has a different internship schedule. Please refer to the internship schedule below for reference.

  • If you are interested in applying for both pathways, please submit separate applications using different email address for the coding challenge.

  • Once enrolled in the program, interns cannot change pathways midway.

Our Stance on AI and Software Engineering

AI tools can be helpful, but the goal of HENNGE’s Global Internship Program (GIP) is to help you build strong software engineering fundamentals. To support that learning, we ask you not to use AI tools to generate code for training assignments or solution implementations. The code you submit should be written by you and reflect your own understanding.

You may use a designated AI service to support your learning in non-code-generating ways, such as clarifying technical concepts, understanding documentation, or helping with non-essential tasks (for example, command-line options).

Throughout the program, you’ll be expected to take ownership of your code and clearly explain your thinking, trade-offs, and design decisions. In this learning environment, you are the engineer and the final gatekeeper of quality.
